Where is Zaanse Schans?

Within the city of Zaandam is a tiny Dutch town called Zaanse Schans. It is roughly 1.1 miles from Zaandijk and 12 miles from Amsterdam.

Despite its small size, Zaanse Schans attracts millions of tourists each year with its distinctive collection of attractions. Museums, handicrafts, and windmills are some of these attractions.

Once there, the lovely cocoa fragrance fills the air as you make your way to the village. Near the settlement are two chocolate and cookie manufacturing facilities. To purchase some local chocolate and mementos made of cocoa, proceed to the modest store.

This location would definitely be my first choice if I were living in the Netherlands; the aroma is incredible!

How to get to Zaanse Schans

By bus

One option is the Rnet-bus 391, which departs every 15 minutes from Amsterdam Central Station. The bus trip from Amsterdam to Zaanse Schans takes approximately 40 minutes.

By train

Another way to get to Zaanse Schans is by train. The journey from Amsterdam Central Station to Zaandijk station is 17 minutes long. However, you should keep in mind that you’re going to have to walk for 15 minutes to get to Zaanse Schans itself after you get off the train.

By car

If you’re not one for public transportation and prefer to take the journey by car, you’ll find that parking is easy and convenient.
